Corporate social responsability
Nissan's environmental philosophy is "a Symbiosis of People, Vehicle and Nature." It expresses our ideal picture of a sustainable mobile society. Achieving this symbiosis requires that we address three key issues:
1. Reducing CO2 emissions.
The automobile industry must work to reduce CO2 emissions but also reinvent its business model to reduce reliable of fossil fuels. The best example of our current engagement in this area is the new Nissan Leaf.
2. Protecting the air, water and soil.
We are working to reduce the environmental effects of our vehicles throughout their life cycles so that we may hand down a healthy global environment to future generations.
3. Recycling resources.
We are working to make effective use of resources at every stage of our vehicles' life cycles.
Through these efforts we are working toward the ultimate goal of reducing the environmental impact caused by our operations and Nissan vehicles throughout their life cycle to a level that can be absorbed naturally by the Earth.
